Before you invest in a robot cell, you want to know what will happen, in what order, and how long your machines will be affected. Here is how a project with OpiFlex normally runs, from the first call to full production.

![OpiFlex customer process: pre-order analysis, order to installation and installation](https://blog.opiflex.se/hs-fs/hubfs/Images/Blog%20Images/p19-customer-journey.png?width=1920&height=1080&name=p19-customer-journey.png)

## 1. Before the order: analysis on your own figures

We start with your production, not with a robot. A few pictures of typical parts help us understand what you make before we meet.

The analysis follows a 7-step model for pre-studies. It was developed in the Swedish government's Smart Industry project Produce in Sweden, together with Chalmers, Linnaeus University, RISE and IF Metall. Our tools are the Automation Analysis Tool for the feasibility study and our production economics model, validated by Chalmers University of Technology.

You provide your own figures, and we do the calculation with you. The application study then sets the requirements and ends in a quote based on your own figures. If the numbers do not support an investment, that is also a result.

## 2. From order to installation: normally 4–16 weeks

After the order, we define the cell together: layout, interfaces and parts. The platform is built from standard components in our factory in Västerås, together with peripherals and grippers, and tested before delivery (FAT).

## 3. Installation: normally 2–4 days

A traditional robot installation normally takes 4–6 weeks. Because most of the work is done in our factory, installation at your site is normally 2–4 days:

- Quick start: set-up of robot, cell and safety.
- Test runs: programming with the Dynamic Program Generator and production of several products.
- Site acceptance test (SAT) and training.
- Full production, with statistics.

Your production does not have to stop while this happens. During the installation, production can often continue at about 50 % during the day and 100 % in the evenings and at night.

## 4. After start-up

Onboarding, technical support remote and on site, and service agreements up to 24/7. Management tools such as the Robot Utilization Tool and the Batch Size Optimizer show how the robot is used over time, which is useful when the next machine or product comes up.

## Buy, lease or rent

The cell can be bought or leased, or rented through our sister company Rent a Robot, where you pay per use.

## Where to start

The first step is a conversation about your production: what you make, how it runs today and what you want to achieve. Send us a few pictures of typical parts beforehand, and we will come better prepared. [Contact us here](https://www.opiflex.se/en/contact/).
